Bleeding Orange

Thank you so much for the opportunity to allow me to talk about my experiences as a Muslim at Syracuse University. I am a junior at iSchool pursuing a bachelors in Information Management & Technology with the focus on Information Security and Computer Networking.

I love Syracuse University’s academic environment. It is filled with prosperity and excitement. All the classes that I have taken so far have been a bit challenging but I benefitted a great deal.

I am glad and proud to say that as a Muslim I have not felt any threat or hostility towards me since I started taking classes in January 2013. As a matter of fact, I have met many individuals who respect my beliefs and are curious to find out more about Islam. Once in a blue moon I may meet someone who is narrow minded but it doesn’t affect my values or spirit.

I am glad to be a part of Syracuse University and YES, I bleed orange!
